Check Your Six Program: Collaboration with Philly SWAT and New Castle County Paramedic Recruits

Here at FBBCF, we have made it a priority to provide mental and emotional wellbeing resources to out first responder community. Last week, Philly SWAT took part in our Check Your Six Program, which is specifically designed to help police officers and first repsonders manage the unique stress of their jobs. Jennifer Boileau presented a 2-hour session on sleep disruption supports, nervous system regulation, progressive muscle relaxation, iRest meditation - a Yin yoga excercise to relieve discomfort in the lower body due to heavy gear and repetitive movements. We thank Jennifer and the Philadelphia Police Department for their continued commitment to the health and wellbeing of our brave law enforcement officers.

The New Castle County Paramedic Recruits also took part in our Check Your Six Program last month, where Jennifer led them in a Yin yoga session, as well as a Progressive Muscle Relaxation, using breathwork to calm the nervous system and promote a sense of rest and relaxation. The session ended with a deeply grounding iRest meditation. We are grateful to the New Castle County Paramedics for including our program in their Academy, and we wish their recruits safety and success as they wrap up their training and prepare to begin their work in the field.
